Search Engine Modification August 19, 2026 Consumer & PRO Only
The standard Elementor product search was replaced with a custom WooCommerce product search. This was necessary because FacetWP, which is used for the separate Products A–Z system, interfered with the normal WordPress/Elementor search and caused large numbers of irrelevant product results.
The replacement search is intentionally limited to Product Name and SKU only. It does not search product descriptions, categories, tags, or other product content.
Implementation
Create the Product Search page
Page title:
Product SearchPage slug:
product-searchPublish the page.
Add and activate the Code Snippets snippet
Snippet name:
PL – Dedicated Product Search – Name or SKUThe same snippet can be used on both Progressive Labs sites because it uses
home_url()and is not domain-specific.The snippet contains the search logic, WooCommerce product-result display, header search form, and associated styling.
Add the results shortcode to the Product Search page
Edit the Product Search page with Elementor.
Add an Elementor Shortcode widget.
Enter:
This displays the search results as WooCommerce product cards without displaying a second search box in the body of the page.
Replace the Elementor header search
Edit the Elementor header template.
Add an Elementor Shortcode widget containing:
Remove or hide the original Elementor Search widget.
Set the new shortcode widget/container positioning to 59 px right margin, matching the positioning previously used by the Elementor Search widget.
Verify visually that the new search occupies the same location as the original search.
Test
Search by a partial product name, such as
Cardio.Search by a complete product name, such as
Cardio Pro.Search by a known SKU, such as
1023.Search for an invalid/nonexistent term and verify that
No products found.is displayed.
Important
The header search and the Products A–Z system are deliberately separate.

Do not modify or remove the FacetWP Starts With facet or the existing A–Z Products listing when working on the header search.

Consumer and PRO Sites Only
The standard WooCommerce Products → All Products search was returning excessive and largely irrelevant results when searching by product name.
For example, searching Cardio Pro returned approximately 61 products because WooCommerce was searching product descriptions/content in addition to the product title.
SKU searching was already functioning correctly.
Modification
A Code Snippets snippet was added:
PL – Products Admin Search – Name or SKU Only
The snippet modifies the search used on:
WordPress Admin → Products → All Products
The search is now limited to:
Product Name / Title
SKU
It does not search product descriptions or other product content.
Partial Product Names Are Intentionally Supported
Product-name matching is intentionally partial, not exact.
For example:
Cardio Profinds Cardio ProCardiofinds products such as Cardio Pro, Cardio Flow, and products containing Cardiovascular in their titles1023finds the product having SKU 1023
This behavior is intentional because staff frequently search using only part of a product name.
Private/Inactive Products
The search intentionally does not restrict results to publicly visible products.
Private or otherwise non-public products may appear when their product title or SKU matches the search. This is desirable because this is an internal administrative product search, and staff may specifically need to locate a private/inactive product.

This modification is installed on:
Progressive Labs Consumer
Progressive Labs PRO
It is not installed on the Contract site, because the Contract site’s Products search is already sorting/searching correctly and does not require the modification.

The custom customer-facing Header Product Search
The FacetWP Products A–Z system
Do not remove or modify the FacetWP A–Z configuration when troubleshooting this admin product search.
